	<title>NAPIER POWER HERITAGE</title>
	<link>http://www.napierheritage.org.uk/</link>
<description>Napier Power Heritage trust - the history of Napier , manufacturer of cars, aero engines, diesel engines, minting machines. PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE NAPIER POWER HERITAGE NEWS. Feb. 2011.
It is worthy of note that this year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of commencing NAPIER POWER HERITAGE NEWS, which has been the continuous life line supporting and recording the progress of Napier Power Heritage, since the first issue of the news in the Autumn, OCT, 1991, with the title, NEWS SHEET No. 1.Created and compiled by Alan Vessey, marking his dedicated service to promote N P Heritage, through his tireless work writing and editing the next 65 copies, covering 18 years up to issue No. 65, in 2009. The News Sheet has enjoyed a progressive history from starting as a single A4 sheet, headed, NAPIER POWER HERITAGE, showing an outline of the DELTIC locomotive, and included the NAPIER logo, our well known oval badge.
News Sheet No. 2 appeared in April 1992, and drew attention to the continuing NAPIER reunion held every year on the first Friday in December, at the Old Actonians sports club, and the event this year, 1992, would be the 24th reunion that Joyce Finch, had arranged since she organised the first meeting in 1968.
Followed by News Sheet No, 3, in July, 1992, raising interest in the future prospects of N P Heritage developing in to a corporate body with a subscribed membership. News Sheet No. 4 in Sept. 1992. was pleased to record that Napier Power Heritage had been operating successfully for a full year. It was considered that to cover costs it may be necessary to impose a small charge to receive the NPH NEWS Sheet. However, there was a most important development to support N P Heritage and ensure its future. When in October, Alan Vessey and Geoff Me Garry, were invited to visit the Napier company at Lincoln, to meet Neil White, M D, and Manager, John Crow, for discussion on the future progress of NPH in association with and supported by EGT Turbochargers, (formerly Napier Turbochargers), who generously assumed the task of printing and mailing the Napier News. News sheet No. 5, in Dec. 1992, recorded this generous advance by EGT, and their logo, EGT with a turbine blade, appeared in the bottom right hand corner of each sheet, now two sheets for the first time.
With a new heading, ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE ON LAND SEA AND IN THE AIR, and our new NPH LOGO, a LION brandishing a SABRE with a DELTIC triangle covering the World, designed by our late aviation artist, FRANK REGAMEY, formerly of Napier Acton Technical Publications during the SABRE years in the 1940s, The Napier News now enjoyed a sure future and under the guidance of Alan Vessey, grew in size, shape and stature to become our well loved quarterly magazine uniting the corporate membership of Napier Power Heritage TRUST, which is another chapter to be recorded in the long running history of the Napier News, and Napier company, formerly D. NAPIER &amp; SON Ltd. If you would like to know more about the ongoing 200 years of NAPIER engineering history and thereby supporting and keeping alive the important English Engineering Heritage, you are most welcome, please contact ....roygasson (at) napierheritage.org.uk
