Request for Car information
Thursday 16 October 2008
We received an enquiry from Mr. Paul Fasey concerning photographs of his grandfather’s Napier taken in 1911. Mr, Fasey informed us that a condition of purchase was that the car be capable of a speed of 80mph at Brooklands which apparently it achieved after some tuning by the factory. Mr. Fasey suggested this was a 65hp T24 6-cylinder car. Examination of the photograph by Clive Boothman, one of our Napier car-owning members and Derek Grossmark, who has an extensive archive of Napier factory material, confirms that the radiator and general design are consistent with it being a 65hp car although definitive identification is difficult without a chassis number. Derek has kindly offered Mr. Fasey access to further relevant archive material.”
