For those of you that are interested in the varied Work carried out by D. Napier & Son Ltd, over the last Two Hundred Years, we are trying to put together a definitive list of places that hold examples. Please bear with us as this is no easy task, and will be under construction and review for sometime to come. If you know of any additions or corrections that can be made.

    Firstly I would like to thank Napier Heritage for creating such an interesting web site about an amazing company. I was interested to read that the museum in Hendon has three Sabres. I know it definetly has a mark III, I’ve seen it, but was surprised to read the claim of it possesing two mark VIIs - is this truly the case? If so what condition are they in?

    Of all the Sabre’s I’ve seen, the one in its glass case at Arromanches touched me the most..it had ditched and the reduction gear casing is cracked with view of gearing, believe the coolant pumps were gone too, etc. etc..I became expansive.. pointing out the various components to a gathering crowd who presumably didn’t understand my torrent of english but were caught up by my enthusiasm. What was moving me was the thought, just the thought, that it might have been a repaired engine this AID Approved Inspector passed of for flight at the Aldenham Test Tunnels years earlier.
