I have for some time tried to make contact with people interested in Napiers as I have always had the feeling that they were never given the credit they were due.
My father joined them in, I think 1934 and retired in 1968 being for most of that time in charge of the statistical dept. He was very much a Napier man and although he spent his working life at a desk he was in fact very mechanically inclined and I would axpect that I inherited something of this from him as I spent most of my life at sea as an engineer retiring in 1993 as Chief Engineer with New zealand shipping.
I would be delighted to make contact with Napier people and recieve information on the Company’s achievements some of which I worked on during my life at sea.
